In Your Own Words(blog prompt)
Imagine that you are Dr Tan and that you have been invited to make an article contribution to a youth magazine to encourage young people to set worthwhile goals and work towards them.
Life is not a bed of roses. In fact, life is all about setting worthwhile goals and working towards them. The main problem nowadays is that people don't know what they truly want in life. Everyday, these ignorant people go about the same old routine, doing the same old things, wasting their life away. Why is this so? They do not set goals for themselves, or set unrealistic goals that they know they cannot achieve.
Thus, setting worthwhile and realistic goals are essential for you to live life to the fullest and not get dragged into the never-ending cycle of ignorance and regret, saying things like i should have done this when i could, i should have tried harder to do that, etc. By the time you realise that, it is probably too late.
How do you go about it?
- Think about what you want to do. However, keep it realistic.
- Start planning on the first step of the plan. Without the first action, things won't progress.
- Remind yourself of the end product that you will be so proud of when the going gets tough. This way, you will be more motivated to succeed.
- Always differentiate between what you need and what you want.
With that, I wish all of the readers all the best.
